Well, we didn't actually go to the Pet Noir party prepared to cover it on the site. We just went to drink and see some art, maybe run into some friends. But we liked the art, and even met some new people, and also found out that it would be the last party at the current space for the Balazo gallery (though, as pointed out on their website, they've decided to throw a final "spanish rock out" which sure sounds like a blast). They'll be moving on up to 18th and Mission.
What did we like? Well, N8 Van Dyke's rebel chimps are definitely our style. It was nice to find an insurance salesman, M. August Bournique, with a sensitive, artistic side. Lots of beautiful people, for sure, and a smoking lounge! Yay for not having to go outside! And lots and lots of little dogs. We mean like a dozen, all of them tiny. Mostly chihuahuas. Who'd a thunk it? And nobody even noticed that we'd recently consumed the flesh of a slaughtered animal. Not that we brought it up.
