Now, there might be some of you wondering how could this be? How could the city that gave us the Summer of Love, the Winter of Love, and that damn Tony Bennett song be only 38th? This, after all, is the city that gave the world Journey and if the hills and the fog and the clanging of the cable cars wasn’t the inspiration behind "Open Arms" we don’t know what was.

So what is it that makes this city so hard for singletons? For the straight women out there, is it because, as one friend said, guys here are either into coding or brooding? And for the straight guy, is it just like what a perusal of Craigslist Rants N' Raves points out, that it’s a dating world full of either women with ISSUES or of gold-digging, Barbie dolls who put their career as a reporter for some lame-ass cable network over the relationship? And is it any easier out there for the Queer Guy or Queer Girl? Are things the same or is it as most straight people in this city suspect, that gay people have more fun?

Or, is it as the study says, just some random sampling of people basing their information on things like percentage of singles, density and things and sponsored by some deodorant that’s trying way too hard?

We, dear readers, ask you.
