The verdict is in, and it doesn't look good for Scott Peterson. He probably should have left for Mexico while he still had a chance (granted, the cops had been tracking his car electronically, and we doubt Mexican police would have looked kindly on his crime). Reporters may now strike the 'allegedly' from their future despatches.
SFist has been rather ambivalent towards this case - we did, after all, only post on it once and it was to tell you it was almost over. We think the only people who aren't glad this ordeal is over are San Mateo hoteliers. Since the case and trial had taken the back-burner in national media during the election, only to become the top story again immediately after the polls closed, SFist is wondering what sensationalistic murder will take place next. Well, people keep getting murdered in Oakland and the Bayview at a rapid clip, maybe the broadcast trucks will swarm those stories one of these days. Nah. Maybe we're being a bit cynical, but we're thinking it's going to be another blonde white girl being murdered or kidnapped that gets the mainstream media's collective panties in a bunch next.
