Oh, man. SFist is underwhelmed by the movie offerings this weekend, and is considering staying home with our DVDs of MI-5, season one. But if we had to go out and see a movie, our big budget pick of the week would be Vanity Fair a Bollywoodized update of the Thackeray novel of the same name, (not the magazine , silly).

If not that, then we might take in some of the films that have opened a while ago that we haven't gotten around to yet. The Embarcadero is still showing Before Sunset and Maria Full of Grace, both of which come to us with high recommendations.

Or maybe we'll brave the Metreon. Whew! There's a lot stinking up the place, and we're not even talking about the rather dubious looking Chicken 'n Cheez. You can see Harry Potter or Spiderman in the IMAX, or a bunch of other old or crappy movies in the regular theater. Hey, how's Open Water? Is that good? We heard so much about it, and then...nothing.

If you have any better movie recommendations for this weekend, please, be our guest and hit us with them in the comments. Because we're fresh out, and those British spies are looking better and better.
