It's just like Baby Jessica, only less so -- the Petaluma Fire Department rescued a man who got stuck in a well trying to rescue his dog. The dog, Snoop, fell into the well around 3 a.m., chasing a raccoon. (The family had just come back from a concert!) The owner then crawled into the well to rescue Snoop, but got stuck trying to climb out. (The family didn't even know there was a well on the property!) Sensibly, the family called the fire department, after attempts to rescue the duo with a garden hose failed. The fire department rushed over, and, working within a two and a half foot space, tied a rope to a floor beam of the house and pulled the man up. They then lassoed Snoop and got him out too. Snoop "shook himself off and went about [his] business," report the firefighters.

The firefighters came back to the house later today, to take pictures for future training purposes. "We rarely get incidents like this," they say. Li'l Snoop! SFist is sure he's a great dog. If SFist had a dog (and how we wish we did!), we're sure we would have done the exact same thing.
