Many of SFist's friends - and some of us at SFist ourselves, have been known to complain about the paucity of eligible straight men in the Bay Area. So we're sad to say that we weren't too shocked last January to hear about the case of serial nuptialist Clifford Garrison, who had just gotten busted for his ninth marriage and swindle scheme. This story is so sad - according to this Chronicle piece, this guy had married and stolen from eight women (many of whom are from the Bay Area)before he married wife number nine.

"Garrison met his latest wife about two years ago while serving time for fraud in Georgia -- a case that had nothing to do with his wives. Even after being portrayed as a greedy groom in media reports, and knowing he was wanted for a parole violation in California, Garrison hooked up with the woman who would become his ninth wife.
