- San Francisco's Juneteenth Parade and Festival happens nine days before actual Juneteenth this year, and is set for tomorrow, June 8. This second annual Juneteenth Parade up Market Street will kick off at 11 am, and there will be many downtown streets closed during the day. [KRON4]
- This week the U.S. Geological Survey announced updates to the ShakeAlert earthquake warning system in California. The updates, the agency says, will help officials more quickly determine the scale and area of large earthquakes and will get that information to the public faster. [Chronicle]

- There was another clash at the Israeli Consulate in SF Friday, with a couple dozen pro-Palestinian protesters who had earlier protested outside Senator Alex Padilla's office marching to the consulate where a couple dozen pro-Israel demonstrators were gathered. [Chronicle]
- The Santa Rosa Police Department has released a decoder ring, of sorts, for parents showing them emoji codes for drugs, so that they know the codes dealers and teen buyers might be using for drug deals. [KRON4]
- A 28-year-old San Jose woman, Sylvia Ortega, is accused of stabbing a man to death in downtown San Jose on June 2. [KRON4]
- A U.S. Army vehicle that was traveling on eastbound I-580 in Castro Valley overturned Friday, blocking eastbound lanes and causing a major East Bay traffic situation. [KTVU]
