An unidentified passenger in a vehicle traveling on eastbound I-580 in Oakland this morning was shot and critically wounded in what's being characterized by authorities as a targeted hit.
The CHP reports that the shooting took place at 9:53 a.m. near the Keller Avenue exit. Four people were in the car at the time, including a female driver and two children in the backseat, according to NBC Bay Area. Neither the woman nor the two kids — a one-year-old girl and a four-year-old girl — were injured, but the shooting left the unidentified passenger with a serious wound. KTVU reports that the passenger was a man.
The vehicle the four were in was a white Infiniti four-door sedan, per KPIX, and the suspect vehicle being sought is an SUV hatchback of unknown make and model. According to the CHP, witnesses said the two suspects in the SUV were wearing masks.

A woman who lives in the area of the shooting who helped tend to the injured man told the East Bay Times that he was bleeding from the mouth, neck, and ear and "wasn't in good shape." He was transported to the hospital and listed in critical condition.
