All of Facebook's social media properties — Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Facebook Classic — are experiencing major outages that appear to have started around 5 a.m. Pacific Time/ 8 a.m. Eastern. Downdetector.com shows Instagram outage reports throughout the urban US, the UK, France, Brazil, and Moscow, with a similar pattern out outages for Facebook. WhatsApp shows a large number of outage reports in Brazil and western Europe.
