Former President Barack Obama was in San Francisco last night, and where did he choose to dine in a city full of world-class dining options? Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina's downtown barbecue restaurant International Smoke.

Eater grabbed the news via Mina's Instagram, where the chef wrote, "No greater privilege than to cook for this man on Presidents’ Day. Thank you for the highest honor @barackobama!"

Eater reports that Obama is in town for a Tuesday event in Oakland at which he's speaking alongside Golden State Warrior Steph Curry, his sometime golf buddy and Ayesha's husband. The event is the first national gathering of the My Brother's Keeper Alliance, an Obama Foundation initiative that supports young men and boys of color. As ABC 7 reports, the conference is a gathering of youth and youth leaders from around the country who are here to "be part of a new solution to the problems facing many young men and boys of color in the United States."

John Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen were also at the dinner last night at International Smoke — and Legend is also a part of the My Brother's Keeper organization. Legend is also speaking at the town hall-style event today.

As Eater notes, former Vice President (and potential 2020 candidate) Joe Biden also ate at International Smoke shortly after it opened last January.
