A man was killed on San Francisco's Treasure Island Wednesday night, in what police say is SF's 22nd homicide of the year.
According to the San Francsico Police Department, officers were called to the 900 block of Avenue B, the location of which you can see on this map, at 5:29 p.m. Wednsday.
When they arrived, they discovered a male victim who police say was in his 30s. He had been shot with a handgun, police say, and was dead when they arrived.
When contacted for information on the victim's identity, a spokesperson with the San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office would only say "we do not have any information at this time," and would not elaborate on any aspect of the case.
According to the SFPD, no arrests have been made in the shooting, the ongoing investigation of which is why so few details have been released to the public.
The man's slaying is SF's 22nd homicide for 2017, an SFPD spokesperson confirmed. This follows last Friday's shooting death of 23-year-old Oakland resident Eduardo Tay. As of publication time, no suspects have been publicly identified in Tay's shooting, nor have any arrests been made.
