Photos: Scenes From Last Weekend's Lowrider Cruise Tribute To Selena

Some Muni bus shelters on Saturday weren't displaying arrival times for buses: Instead, they read "Lowrider Cruise, 4/8 6pm to 9 pm." And cruise they did: The San Francisco Lowrider Council gathered 50 or so vehicles, by Mission Local's count, for a tribute to the late Mexican-American icon Selena. Her birthday, a Texas holiday, is later this month. Josh Jacobson was on hand and took these pictures of the event. The next big lowriders gathering is the 29th, for the Cesar Chavez parade.
