Police are investigating a series of fires at a popular San Francisco tourist destination, after witnesses say a man ran from business to business lighting setting things ablaze.

Police say that the suspect, who is described as between 35-45 years of age, committed the crimes at multiple buildings at Fisherman's Wharf's Pier 39 at around 4:12 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, the man entered an area retail store, "set property on fire, and fled scene." He "then entered another business and set property on fire, and fled scene."

Police did not have any details on any possible motive for the firestarter, but confirmed that as of Wednesday morning, he remains at large.
