Have you emerged yet from your darkened bedroom, blinds drawn, squinting into the November light and coming to terms with the new (hopefully temporary) world order?

Oh good. I'm still hiding in mine. But if I were to emerge, here are some things I'd consider doing with my time.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22

CINEMA-BASED PERFORMANCE ART: Ongoing through mid-December is an avant-garde series of evenings of performance cinema at Gray Area, all part of the sixth installment of "Perpetual Motion" — billed as "the largest convergence of international, multi-generational performance cinema practitioners ever assembled in the San Francisco Bay Area." Tonights performers include Oakland-based duo Malic Amalya and Nathan Hill's Towards the Death of Cinema (involving projected images and synthesizer), and a medley of works by Australian performance cinema historian Sally Golding. Gray Area, 2665 Mission Street, 8 p.m., $10-$15, tickets here

VR-BASED ART: Tonight check out a show at the intersection of art and technology, with works by several artists who are incorporating virtual reality into their work. Featured speaker and prominent Burner Android Jones will introduce featured artists Calvin Wong (Print/Drawing), Alex Shurwell (Digital), Claire Bediner (Painting/Mixed Medium), and Brandon Rodriguez-Jauregui (Painting/Digital). Upload Collective, 1535 Mission Street, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., $30-$50, tickets here.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23

STANDING ROCK BENEFIT: As SFist music columnist Adrian Spinelli noted in his Monday roundup of this week's notable shows, Pop's Bar in the Mission is hosting a benefit for the Standing Rock Dakota Access Pipeline Access Donation Fund, titled Spin The Night Thanksgiving Special: Stand Up For Standing Rock. There's apparently a secret special guest who might be really famous, in addition to a group of local DJ's spinning. 2800 24th Street, 9 p.m., no cover, donations welcome

DRAG GRANNY PHOTO OP: Continuing a tradition started eight years ago at the defunct Booty Call Wednesdays, on the eve of Thanksgiving, Glamamore will don her granny best ensemble for faux Thanksgiving tableau-taking. Bring your friends, have drinks, repeat. Shot in the City will provide photos, DJ Vin Sol will provide beats, and Juanita MORE! will survey the scene. Upstairs at DNA Lounge, 375 11th Street, 9 p.m., $5

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 24

SUNRISE GATHERING TO HONOR INDIGENOUS PEOPLE: If you'd like to wake up early Thursday and pay tribute to the indigenous people of America who did not all share in the storybook version of the first Thanksgiving — and to commemorate the 1969-71 occupation of Alcatraz by the "Indians of All Tribes" — and see what sunrise looks like from Alcatraz, you should join this annual event, which leaves by boat from Pier 33, and returns there by 9:30/10 a.m. (last boat leaves Alcatraz at 8:45 a.m., and there are no regular tours that day). There will be plenty of colorful, ceremonial garb, and therefore lots of Instagram opportunities, but don't just go for that. Pier 33, 4:15 a.m. to 10 a.m., $14

HIP-HOP / R&B PARTY: It may be a holiday but that won't stop No Hard Feelings, the weekly hip-hop party at Skylark on 16th, this time featuring sounds from Mayje and Coldsoggyfries. 3089 16th Street, 10 p.m., free

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25

FUN MECHANICAL SCULPTURE SHOW: Skip Black Friday and go to the Exploratorium for their "Curious Contraptions" show, featuring 20 whimsical, fun, mostly British mechanical sculptures known as automata, on loan from the Cabaret Mechanical Theater. Pier 15, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., $29.95 for adults, $19.95 kids 3-12

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26

CAR SHOW: The annual Auto Show kicked off last weekend at the Moscone Center, and continues this weekend, with 2017 car models on display as well as all manner of exotic sports cars, new electric vehicles, and Academy of Art University president Elisa Stephens's classic car collection. Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., $10

BAY AREA SOUL MUSIC SHOW: Headlining the Independent this Saturday are the Monophonics, the Bay Area bred quintet led by front man Kelly Finnigan specializes in their own brand of "psychedelic soul," and will be joined by opening act Sun Hop Fat. The Independent, 628 Divisadero, 9 p.m., $20

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 27

BUTCHERY CLASS: Carnivores only here: Ever want to learn how to break down a whole hog? It's a skill that may not come up in your holiday entertaining, but nonetheless may come in handy at a luau someday, and 18 Reasons is doing a fundraiser class for their Cooking Matters program, taught by "renowned, Dante-quoting butcher from Italy," Dario Cecchini. The class includes a 90-minute demo with recipe ideas for various cuts, and a 45-minute cocktail hour after. Arclinea, 2 Henry Adams Street, 4 p.m., $65

LEONARD COHEN TRIBUTE: This pretty special sounding night of Leonard Cohen music, honoring the great man a week after his death, will feature a capella group Conspiracy of Beards (seen above, singing Cohen last week in BART stations), their female counterpart group Conspiracy of Venus, Sylvie Simmons, Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek, Chuck Prophet, Christopher Owens, Tim Bluhm (of The Mother Hips), Sean Hayes, Sonny Smith (of Sonny & the Sunsets), Tim Cohen, and Greg Ashley, among others. The Chapel, 777 Valencia Street, 7 p.m., $14

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 28

CHAMPAGNE AND CHEESE TASTING: Assuming you've finished off your Thanksgiving leftovers and have some room for cheese, the Cheese School of San Francisco is doing a tasting of "winter sparklers," including cava, prosecco, Champagne, and sparkling wine, with cheeses to pair with each. The Cheese School, 2124 Folsom Street near 17th, 6:30 p.m., $85
