A Fillmore Street bike thief used an unusual weapon to intimidate her victim: A hammer.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the crime went down at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, on the 800 block of Fillmore Street, which is between Fulton and Grove Streets.
Police say that the victim, a 39-year-old man, was standing on the sidewalk with his bicycle when a woman in her late 20s pulled up in a sedan.
The woman waved a hammer at the man as she "demanded his property." The man, presumably afraid of what she might do with the building implement, "dropped his bicycle and walked away from the scene," police say.
The woman grabbed the bike and fled, according to the SFPD. As of Thursday morning, she remains on the loose.
