A man was the victim of a brazen afternoon beating near Dolores Park Friday, hit with a skateboard hard enough to send him to the hospital.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the 20-year-old male victim was attacked at 5 p.m. Friday on the 500 block of Dolores Street, which runs along the eastern edge of the park.
Police haven't publicly announced what led up to the attack, saying only that an unknown suspect hit the victim "over the head multiple times with a skateboard."
The victim "fell to the ground," police say, noting that "it is unknown if [the victim] lost consciousness," according to SFPD's report on the assault.
The beating victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of injuries police say are not life threatening. As of Monday morning, his assailant remains at large.
