A gang of three men violently attacked a man walking in Chinatown Monday, kicking and punching him in an effort to steal his cell phone.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, a 50-year-old man was walking on Wentworth Place, a small street that runs between Washington and Jackson Streets, at 9:35 p.m. Monday when the assault occurred.
Police say that a group of three men who appeared to be between the ages of 20 and 25 came up behind the man and slammed him into a wall, before kicking and punching him repeatedly.
As the man fell to the ground, his cell phone flew from either his pocket or his grasp. One of his attackers, police say, grabbed the victim's phone, and fled on foot.
The man suffered some scrapes in the incident, but his injuries weren't serious enough to require a trip to the hospital, police say. His three attackers, police say, remain at large, and no arrests have been made in this case.
