A Dolores Park-goer was attacked by a large group of suspects Wednesday night, over claims that the victim had dared gaze upon the romantic partner of one of his alleged assailants.
It was 10:50 p.m. Wednesday when police say that a group on ten men, some of whom appeared to be as young as 16 years old, approached the male victim in Dolores Park.
One of the members of the group accused the victim "of looking at his girlfriend," according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Five members of the group then started punching the victim "numerous times in the face," with one of them also using "a lanyard with keys to hit" the man.
When the victim attempted to flee the attack, he "tripped and fell to the ground," police say. His five punchers then switched to kicking, police say, striking him with their feet "numerous times."
At the conclusion of the attack, the entire group of ten ran east on 19th Street.
The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for a cut above his eye and contusions to his head. According to police, his injuries are non-life-threatening.
