A driver in the Outer Richmond District of San Francisco was killed Thursday afternoon, after he collided with a street pole.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, an 80-year-old man was driving near the intersection at 34th Avenue and Geary Boulevard at 2:29 p.m. Thursday when he apparently lost control of his vehicle and struck a pole at the side of the street.
The man was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, where "where he expired," police say.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to police, nor was anyone else injured in the collision.
