The "Drag Queens of Comedy" tour, which arrives at the Castro Theatre for two performances on Saturday, May 28, has just added to the bill the breakout star from Season 8 of Rupaul's Drag Race, Bob the Drag Queen. Fans already know that Bob won the competition this season, which had its finale air this past Monday, and everyone in their right mind knows that this was absolutely the correct outcome. It's notable though that while Season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio was already a known entity in her native New Orleans and in New York for her bawdy, offensive standup when she was quickly added to the DQOC tour, Bob is a young upstart who's being thrust onto stage very fast, fresh off the TV show.
The show is produced by Sasha Soprano and will be hosted this year by Bianca Del Rio, and the bill also features longtime drag vets Coco Peru, Lady Bunny, and Varla Jean Merman alongside some local Bay Area talent in the form of Heklina and Peaches Christ. Also on this year's tour is popular YouTuber and Season 5 Drag Race-r Alyssa Edwards, and Season 6 funny gal Trixie Mattel.
Bob and all the other gals will be doing shows at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 28, and you can find tickets here. Pre-sale tickets start at $45.
Below, please enjoy Bob's first big music video effort for the original song with DJ Mitch Ferrino, "Purse First," which dropped on Monday ahead of the Drag Race finale.
