A few weeks back I alerted you to the coming arrival of The Lodge, and Wednesday night marked night one for the new Lower Haight spot, in the space formerly occupied by Rickybobby. As the name suggests, comfort food is what's on the menu, which comes from partner and former Greenburger's guy Matt Nudelman — his business partner in the venture is former Zero Zero manager and co-owner of Oro, Tim Felkner.

Nudelman has brought back a couple of staples from Greenburger's, like his poutine and his Buffalo mac-and-cheese — which features macaroni swimming in a spicy blue-cheese bechamel. The Lodge Burger, which as you can see above looks delicious, is made with local chuck, and topped with house-cured Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, house-made pickles, onion, lettuce, and Lodge sauce. Plus, for the more adventurous, there's a Szechuan lamb burger, and a take on New Mexico-style green chili stew.

As Hoodline notes, unlike Rickybobby but just like Greenburger's, the place is a counter-service, fast-casual operation, and the place will be open for both lunch and dinner starting next Wednesday, with Sunday brunch as well.

Felkner tells them, "We want to serve everybody in the neighborhood," and that includes families, with a kids' menu that features a mini version of that burger.

See the full menu below, which includes, for dessert, a Fluffernutter panini.
