The San Francisco Police Department says that they've tracked down the man behind a mini crime spree last week, after surveillance video tied a repeat offender to two armed robbery incidents.

According to San Francisco Police Department spokesperson Sergeant Michael Andraychak, it was 6:45 p.m. on Octover 27 when 45-year-old SF man Sekou Carson walked into Roxie Market and Deli at 500 Kirkham Street, "brandished a firearm and demanded money."

The cashier "was fearful and walked away from the cash register," Andraychak drily reports, and Carson "fled the scene without taking anything."

At 7 p.m. Carson allegedly "struck again," Andraychak says, this time at the 76 gas station at the corner of Fell and Divisadero, as Hoodline had previously reported.

This time, Carson was allegedly more successful, and fled after "having taken cash from the cash register."

The next day, members of SFPD's gang task force reviewed images from surveillance footage of the crimes and recognized the suspect as Carson. They "located and apprehended Carson without incident, at a hotel on the 100 block of Sixth Street," where they were also "able to locate and seize evidence related to the robberies," Andraychak says.

Carson, who was also on Post Release Community Supervision for a prior narcotics and firearm conviction, was placed on probation hold, and was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the felony robbery and aggravated assault.
