You may have noticed the motorcade and the line (and protest) outside the Warfield Theater Saturday for the DNC fundraiser featuring President Obama and Kanye West. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf also gave some opening remarks, and some of the Golden State Warriors were there too, and in his remarks, the President made a number of jokes about Kanye's supposed political aspirations, saying, "You may have heard of this, Kanye is thinking about running for Speaker of the House. It couldn’t get any stranger…"

As SFist noted earlier, the fundraiser was attended by 1,300 people who paid between $250 and $10,000 to attend.

The President also talked about Kanye saying at the MTV awards that he planned to run for President in 2020, which may or may not have been some inebriated rambling. (Wife Kim Kardashian recently said of that idea, "It was news to me!")

SFGate has the full transcript of the President's remarks, via The White House, and SFist posted video from the event earlier.

President Obama continued his California fundraising tour with three more events in Los Angeles, including one at the home of JJ Abrams, as ABC 7 reports.

As X17 reports, Kanye and Kim met up with Serena Williams in SF as soon as they got off the plane.

Kanye then proceeded to stop into the American Idol auditions that were happening here over the weekend.

As E! Online shows us, via Kim Kardashian and Ryan Seacrest's Instagram accounts, Kanye performed "Gold Digger" for judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr., and he got his golden ticket.

SURPRISE!
