I was super jealz last fall when SoCal was first in line to receive the blessing of a Hello Kitty food truck. Hello Kitty macarons! Hello Kitty petit fours! Other important snacks with delicious Hello Kitty iconography! It's the next best thing to the real-live Hello Kitty maternity hospital in Yuanlin, Taiwan, which is definitely where I plan to give birth.
But now Inside Scoop has broken the news that the truck will visit San Francisco, and I'm feeling all the feels. You guys! Soon — okay, in April — we'll be nomming all the nomz. The truck will park at Japantown’s Cherry Blossom Festival on April 11, April 12 and April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
LAist, our southern colleagues and fellow Hello Kitty obsessives, have sampled the truck's wares and loved every little bite. They even spoke to Hello Kitty Cafe's managing partner Allan Tea, who explained that the company that birthed Hello Kitty, Sanrio, has licensed it all.
While Tea gets a brick and mortar (!!!!!) going, the truck is here to scratch our vicious itch for Japanese adorability. To register my sincere excitement for all of you, here's what I look like right now IRL:
