We finally have news on what's moving into the former Brandy Ho's space on 18th Street in the Castro, which has been empty since Halloween. It's called Lark, and as Hoodline is reporting, it's a project from the chef-owner of Polk Street Mediterranean spot Dunya.
Now, while Dunya serves kebabs and moussaka and such, Lark has a nascent Facebook page that lists it as a New American Restaurant and wine bar.
Hoodline broke the story via a liquor license application by Coskun Abik, owner of Dunya, and Lark partner Sertac Yildizhan confirmed that Abik would be the chef here as well.
The Brandy Ho's space, built out at great expense in 2007 by MTP Architects, has a cool barrel-shaped ceiling along one side of the small dining room, which may or may not remain intact.
We'll update you when we hear of an opening date for Lark.
