Writer Caleb Garling and videographers Brett Garling and Lara Loveman spent a day in the park quizzing the lounging crowd about New Year's resolutions. What were theirs in in 2014? Had they stuck to them? What were they hoping to accomplish in 2015?

But those were the softballs. Next, they queried, what would their resolutions be for their friends? "Get comfortable being on your own" is one response that doesn't go over very well.

To me, the video is interesting because it shows that the kinds of resolutions we make are sort of universal, and yes, often banal. But that might help you with yours, or help put yours in perspective. And maybe you'll be brave enough, after watching, to ask your friends for their resolutions for you, or bold enough to give them your resolutions for them.
