You know those animated GIF greeting cards you could get projected on those walls downtown, along Market Street, sponsored by some local artists and arts orgs? Well, "some time traveling hackers from the 90s" managed to hack into the system controlling the projectors, and inserted a script that made a joke about North Korea. And there was the use of "pwn," which, yeah. Idiots.
As DocPop on Reddit, one of the people behind the project, posted last night, "Tonight some time traveling hackers from the 90s tried using a script injection to hack our project. They got rejected."
Of course, as commenters have pointed out, even if the hack was ultimately stopped, it succeeded, and he helped them succeed by publicizing it.
Anyway, WAY TO RUIN CHRISTMAS, HACKERS.
