Most of you should have been asking Santa for rain this Christmas anyway, and if you weren't, you're selfish. But for those who did, your gift will be arriving in the form of some rain showers that will be coming down from the north starting on Christmas Eve, most likely hitting the North Bay and parts of the East Bay, as CBS 5 reports.

AccuWeather is showing sunny days both Thursday and Friday, with highs around 57 degrees.

The weather system moving in is having to go around the area of high pressure that's currently protecting the Bay Area from any wetness, so meteorologists are calling this an "inside slider" that will not be moving directly in off the coast — therefore the rain is likely to miss the city, and the coast, but slide in to the north and east. That does mean Tahoe could see some snow, though, with higher elevations getting upwards of six inches on Christmas Eve, per OpenSnow.

Last-minute shoppers and all those who feel the need to drink their way through Christmas in SF will be able to do so in pretty dry, balmy conditions, so that's nice. Bring a scarf and a warm jacket for the evening hours but you can probably leave the umbrella at home.
