San Francisco has submitted its bid for the "Games of the XXXIII Olympiad," and the estimated price tag, according to the Chronicle, is $4.5 billion.
It's a privately financed plan relying in large part on facilities we already have, some temporary venues, and sites designed to last and benefit San Franciscans, according to officials.
Also to be included in the preparations would be transportation improvements we can all get behind and benefit from, like improving Caltrain, finally extending BART to San Jose, and building rapid transit bus lines in SF.
So here's the thinking on where everything would go. It's all over the place, indicating that really, this would be a Bay Area olympics.

- Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Wrestling: Convention Center San Jose
A more detailed financial plan won't be finalized until the U.S. Olympic Committee makes its decision. And let it be noted that we've tried to host the Olympics before... four times, in fact.
So, you know, all of this could be in Boston or something, not that they aren't ambivalent about the whole thing either. And according to the odds over in Vegas, we'd better not bet on getting the games.
