As we mentioned the other day, Oakland's Cat Town Café just debuted over the weekend, becoming the first-of-its-kind cat cafe, where coffee drinking mingles with cat cuddling. Today, on National Cat Day, when Uber has also been shuttling boxloads of kittens around seven different cities all day, we bring you photos of Cat Town Café.

The business is a collaboration with Oakland Animal Services, and basically serves as a free-range shelter for cats where potential adopters can come and play with them while also grabbing a coffee. The coffeeshop is a separate, adjacent space, for health reasons, but the Cat Zone is right there, and you can even reserve yourself some cat-play time if you don't want to wait in line.

SFist snapped some photos of the space so you can get a better idea — unfortunately, though, due to some loud construction happening outside, the more scaredy among the cats were hiding when we were there.
