Four men are in custody after a brazen early-evening attack on a photographer in Alamo Square Park.
The victim, a 53-year-old man, was on Scott Street near Fulton Street at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday when a man whacked him on the back of the head and stole his camera from his bag, according to police.
The victim chased the robber toward an idling black 2013 Chevrolet SUV, but stumbled and injured his hand, allowing the suspect to escape.
Police were able to track the vehicle and shortly thereafter arrested its occupants, four men ages 19, 20, 21 and 23 years old. At publication time, their names were not available for release.
Meanwhile, the victim's neck was sore from the blow during the robbery, and his finger was bleeding from his injury during the chase, but he refused treatment and is expected to recover.
