A crazed Hayward man took his red Ford Mustang on a quick tour of downtown San Francisco on Sunday evening that involved crashing into the Parc 55 Hotel, plowing into a Muni bus, and striking two pedestrians, critically injuring one of them. Thankfully, he was quickly arrested.

The suspect, Edwin Delatorre, 26, was arrested on suspicion of felony and misdemeanor hit-and-run, reckless driving, speeding, and running a red light, though one has to wonder if DUI isn't a suspicion as well.

The bumper-car incident started around 8:30 p.m. when Delatorre reportedly jumped a curb and struck the (side of the?) hotel at Mason and Eddy Streets, and then ran into bus at that intersection as well. The car then proceed to Market Street at Fifth, where he allegedly struck his first pedestrian, a man who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. He then swung a left on Market, apparently, running a red light at Kearny and Market and striking his second pedestrian, a woman, there. She was injured but expected to survive, according to the SFPD.

Delatorre abandoned the Mustang and tried to flee on foot at Kearny and Pine Street, but was quickly apprehended.
