If you've always though there was a little romance in those endless "Invitation to Connect" emails from LinkedIn, then LinkedUp! might be your new favorite dating app.

Although not officially affiliated with LinkedIn, the new punctuation-laced app mirrors the hot-or-not, swipe-swipe-swipe functionality of dating apps like Tinder or Hinge, but using your LinkedIn headshot and personal information instead of your Facebook profile. Users can search for potential mates and intra-industry romances by filtering for gender, age, proximity and industry.

The app, launched in March of this year, has reportedly starting gaining a user base in cities like San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles among the sort of people who actually use LinkedIn as something more than a source of online resume. The app's founder, 28-year-old former investment banker Max Fischer (no relation), won't reveal how many total users his service has at the moment, but he is confident LinkedIn data will lead to better matches than the Tinder meat market.

Regarding LinkedIn, Fischer said, “people get a really true sense of where someone’s from, what they do, and where they went to school, which are the main questions people ask in terms of dating.”

On the other hand, LinkedUp could also prove useful if you want to date someone who will invite you to lunch on the 17th-floor terrace at LinkedIn's new 26-story office.
