Legendary 49ers quarterback Joe Montana does not like San Francisco's unofficial theme song, apparently. The four-time Super Bowl champ spent some time signing autographs for charity this weekend, but he had one very specific request: Joe will not write "I left my heart in San Francisco" on any of your autograph-ready memorabilia.
For a price, Montana was ready to sign anything from artwork to mini helmets at yesterday's sports memorabilia collectors show. For an $80 add-on fee, the QB would even add a custom inscription to your item, as long as that inscription did not include the Douglas Cross lyrics made famous by Tony Bennett.
While we can't be sure of Montana's reasons for snubbing Bennett's ode to cable cars and cardiac misplacement, it probably has something to do with how that song can get really old, really quick.
