I don't have a dog in the Campos vs Chiu fight for State Assembly (I'm in Phil Ting country), and maybe you don't either. But if you got a kick out of the appearance several local comedians made at a Board of Supes committee meeting last month, then tonight might be your night.
Tonight at Lost Weekend Video, see many of those same comedians who, as OG SFist Jackson West noted, inspired Supe Jane Kim to show an uncharacteristic flash of humor, comparing citizen attendance at BOS meetings to stand-up because in both cases one must “wait a long time to speak for two minutes. And of course you won’t get paid.” Poverty is hilarious!
At "San Francisco Comics Stand Up for Campos" local comics Nato Green, Karinda Dobbins, Johan Miranda, Matt Lieb, Francesca Fiorentini, Kaseem Bentley, Natasha Muse, and Sean Keane will be performing, their host will be Kate Willett. Event organizers say that issues like eviction and San Francisco's income divide will be likely topics of humor, appropriate given that Fiorentini's site is called Laugh Not To Cry. Indeed!
