Now that Google Glass has gotten a nice reputation as an exclusive toy for nerds, celebrities and rude bar patrons, the company will graciously open up sales of the $1,500 device to anyone in the U.S. for one day on April 15th.

According to the Verge, Google isn't considering the one-day-only sale a full consumer release (remember, Gmail was in "beta" for more than half a decade). Instead, it's an extension of the Explorers program that is basically a glorified waitlist. There are about 10,000 of the device out in the wild now, but the sale looks like a push to get more computers on faces across America. Or maybe Google just needs to unload a couple thousand units fast. Either way, this is sure to play out well in bars across America.

Anyhow, if you'd like a pair they go on sale next Tuesday, April 15th at 9 a.m. ET. They're available in prescription and sunglasses frame, if that's your style.
