An unidentified woman may have jumped in front of a train at Embarcadero Station Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m., and she later had to be freed from underneath the train. She was apparently injured, but not fatally, and taken to a hospital.

The incident caused widespread delays in the BART system for 90 minutes afterwards. Normal service resumed around 7:10 p.m.

Details about how the woman ended up in the tracks are still under investigation by BART officials, as Bay City News and others are reporting, but no foul play is suspected. Also, details about her injuries are not yet known.
