Tips for Jesus stopped by noted Japanese joint Roka Akora in Jackson Square last night and left a whopping $3,000 tip on a $147 bill. Impressive. But wait, that's not all. The heavy tipper also paid the entire bill for the table seated next to him.
T4J, who made headlines in December, is reported to be Jack Selby, a Bay Area entrepreneur who made his fortune while at PayPal. So far, he's left massive tips at joints like West Hollywood's Acabar, where he left $5,000 gratuity, and Fig & Olive, where he left $1,000.
The moniker "Tips for Jesus" seems to be more tongue-and-cheek than a tip of the hat to the Lord's son. In this shot of a receipt boasting an astonishing $10,000 tip, he notes, "Yes, there's an extra 2 in the wrong place. Math is hard at 1am after three grand of tequila."
