A three-alarm fire that broke out last night in a four-story Victorian in NoPa sent two residents to the hospital with severe burns, and displaced two others. The fire broke out shortly after 9 p.m. and was contained before 10, but not before causing some significant damage.
As a neighbor told ABC 7, the house had just undergone about two and a half years of renovations, and the owners had been living there about fifteen years. The address of the burned building is 618 Baker Street, but as you can see from the photo above, taken by a friend of SFist in the neighborhood, fire crews were combatting the blaze via adjacent rooftops on Fulton.
The fire appeared to have broken out on the third floor in the rear of the building, and spread very quickly to the fourth floor due to the wooden construction and lack of fire stops between floors, as the SFFD reported.
There's no further word on the condition of the two residents who were hospitalized.
