Every year Glide Memorial Church gives away over 5,000 bags of groceries to the needy in San Francisco, feeding literally thousands of people who would otherwise go hungry during the holidays. Unfortunately, not all of the food made it to the hands and pantries of those folks. As Stanley Roberts discovers in what might be his most despressing People Behaving Badly segment to date, a not insignificant portion of those canned goods ended up unopened in the garbage or simply left out on the street.

Attending yesterday's grocery bag give-away, Roberts found attendees trying to turn a profit from their donated groceries (technically allowed, although frowned upon), returning to the line for multiple trips and flat out dumping unwanted canned goods into the trash. Here's Stanley:

Thankfully, canned goods are easily returned to the food drive, but not before they have to be dug out of the trash.
