Because it's 2013, and because of Instagram and Facebook and the rest, everyone feels it necessary to chime in on every big event, from Miley Cyrus to sarin in Syria, as if they are their own news channel. Unfortunately for some would-be commentators and their friends, they aren't that well informed. Check out how many people who have been posting photos of the western span of the Bay Bridge, believing that it's going to be demolished and some new bridge that isn't there is going to magically take its place.
Buzzfeed picked up on this phenomenon, and though we dislike the Jay Leno mode of "look at how stupid America is," we can't help but point this out.
