Two members of the team behind Churchill and Bloodhound, Mike Goebel and Darin Brunson, along with partner John Ottman-Combs, have taken over the former Stray Bar space on Cortland Avenue in Bernal Heights and will be opening another in their growing empire of neighborhood-y bars.
Goebel tells Bernalwood that the unnamed bar will be cocktail-focused, and otherwise just "a friendly, locally focused, simple neighborhood bar."
The new project comes not long after another Churchill partner, Anthony Healy-London, helped to takeover the former Marlena's in Hayes Valley and reopen it in recent weeks as Brass Tacks.
There's no word yet whether this bar, like the others, will feature much reclaimed wood.
