A 28-year-old mugging victim was relieved of his camera at gunpoint while shooting photos at the foot of San Francisco's most commonly photographed street last night. The man was at the bottom of Lombard Street's postcard block around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday evening, when a suspect approached, pointed a gun at him and took his camera.

The suspect was last seen taking off in a dark gray vehicle and is described only as a man in his mid-20s, who presumably has no more patience for long exposure shots of Lombard Street at night.

Anyone who maybe have seen the camera thief is encouraged to help the guy get his camera back by calling SFPD's anonymous tipline (415) 575-4444 or texting a tip to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
