It's been nearly three years since we were completely rapt by Simon Christen's last fog-umentary The Unseen Sea. In the intervening months, the dedicated time-lapse filmmaker developed a system for predicting (or more accurately: guessing) when the fog conditions would look just right flowing over hills and through the Golden Gate. The result is a stunning, living portrait of San Francisco's love-it-and-hate-it weather pattern.
The equally mesmerizing soundtrack comes from Jimmy LaValle of The Album Leaf and for the fog fan who has everything, prints of some of Christen's favorite scenes from the video are available as prints.
