Wondering why your majestic latte leaf photo isn't getting as many retweets as usual? It's not just because that is a dumb thing to tweet a picture of — it's because Twitter has been experiencing "an issue with our service" for several hours Tuesday morning.

As usual, Twitter's engineers are on it, but there's no word yet about what actually caused the outage that has been intermittent and randomly affecting users since around 5:30 a.m. PST, when East Coasters were attempting to tweet their own morning coffees.

In addition to Twitter, Engadget reports Apple's iCloud and iTunes store services have both been random outages, which can be frustrating if you were trying to download a digital newspaper from a digital newstand to go with said coffee.

Service is currently touch and go. SFist was able to get through a couple times this morning, but our colleagues on the East Coast were having no such luck. We will, of course, let you know when it is completely safe to tweet again.
