A "suspicious" death occurred last night in a high-rise building on Vallejo Street, and as ABC 7 reports, such events are "unusual for quiet Pacific Heights," and we should all therefore start to get intrigued. Because yes, sometimes rich people are killed too.

The death occurred at 2030 Vallejo Street between Buchanan and Laguna, and the victim was a 47-year-old male dermatologist. The death was reported last night around 9:45 p.m., and the medical examiner ruled the situation suspicious, at which point homicide investigators showed up. They're now looking for a person of interest in the case with whom they need to speak.

That's all that is known at this point. And "quiet" Vallejo Street remains shaken, we're sure.

Update: The Bay Area Reporter and the Chronicle are reporting that the victim was identified as Elias Michael, a Cow Hollow dermatologist. A "roommate" was questioned in the case but not arrested, and the BAR reports that there is a 24-year-old suspect who may have been a "houseguest" of Michael's on Saturday. They further report that he lived with his aunt in the apartment, and that a building manager said the police had suggested he might have died of a drug overdose. Friends add that he had only come out as gay a year ago, and was planning to go to the EndUp later that night.
