What started as Top Chef alum Preeti Mistry’s Indian street food Mission pop-up a couple years ago is crossing the bridge and settling in to a permanent home in Oakland’s Temescal neighborhood.
Juhu Beach Club opens tonight. Eater shared the menu (note: lightning bolts are the new hot pepper) today which features some of the most memorable dishes from Juhu’s pop-up stint, like the Mumbai salad. We’re thinking of making a Bart-able dinner call very soon to try the Vindaloo chicken wings and find out what exactly a bizarre love triangle samosa (two house-made gujarati-style samosas, tamarind- date and cilantro chutneys) tastes like. A high score for having a really simple but seemingly flavorful kids’ menu, and bonus points for having a salad (kachumber - radish, carrots, celery) on there.
Doors open tonight at 5:30pm. We can see the line from here.
