A crash on Saturday afternoon between a small pleasure craft and a Golden Gate Ferry departing Sausalito for San Francisco cost a man his life. The man was piloting the speedboat that collided with the ferry in Raccoon Strait, a waterway near Angel Island. Another person onboard the speedboat was also airlifted to the hospital and is still being treated for his or her injuries.

As NBC reports, the crash is still being investigated. The five-person crew aboard the ferry have all been placed on administrative leave, as a precaution. None of the ferry passengers were injured.

The speedboat, while heavily damaged, remained afloat and was towed into harbor by the Coast Guard.
