Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was in California on Thursday for the annual Pebble Beach pro-am tournament. The noted politico and golf aficionado hit a woman smack dab in the face during the sixth hole stroke.

Rice hit a wayward shot at the sixth hole on Thursday during the first round of the event and it went toward another fairway, striking a woman in the face and causing a bloody cut that required medical attention and left the spectator with concussion-like symptoms.

"Did I hit you?" Rice was heard asking the women, who preferred to remain anonymous. "It was a bad shot. I’m really sorry."

Showing her softer side, Rice had her assistant get the woman's phone number so that she could see if the golfball victim was okay. Check out video of the swing and smack below:
