Nature photog David Cruz spotted this grey whale on Sunday while kicking it at Lands End. "The gray whale breached and stayed for a bit near Seal Rocks," notes Richmond Blog. "Maybe he was communicating with Sutro Sam?" We can only hope!

Gray whale migration season happens from December through May. Each year an estimated 15,000 gray whales head from their Arctic feeding grounds to Baja California for breeding and partying. Now is a great time to check them out while en route to the border.
